Market Weighton
Away
Won 5-3
10.30am kick off
This was Towns last 11 aside friendly for the
summer.
Playing away at Market Weighton a team we played in the league and
honours were even 1 win apiece.
Town had lost 2 players to injury, so only had 13 players on show
including 2 new players who’ve been brought into the squad.
Town with Luke Day in goals, Thomas Whitton and Joel Hobson at center
half did excellent, full backs Reece Carr and Ellis Brightmoor were
solid, a midfield of Conor Hutchinson who was solid as ever, Nathan
Morrisroe used his pace well, New boy Hayden O’Neill showed some nice
touches and New boy Declan Walker showed some great skills going forward
and defending.
Up front Ross Williams who run and run alongside Louis Watton who looked
good.
Town had a few chances in the first half but it was Market Weighton who
settled quicker and took a 3 goal lead. Luke Day made a few saves to
keep it at 3 only. Town got a free kick on the left side near the
touchline which new boy Declan Walker took and he shot into the far top
corner of the net to give Town a life line.
After a team talk that asked for more from everyone…
James Carolan came on up front for Louis Watton to partner Williams.
Town just looked so much better and the commitment level was upped and
new boy Declan Walker showed what he can give to Town when he bagged the
next 2 Town goals and his Hat-Trick on debut. He then picked up the ball
in the middle took on 2 and passed them both and crossed from the right
and James Carolan met it sweetly to volley home to put Town in the
league.
Michael Crossley came on for Ellis at left back and did well. Watton
came back on for Williams
Declan’s shot from the edge of the area hit a post and rebound picked up
by Nathan Morrisroe but his shot also hit the post and eventually MW
cleared the danger. Hayden O’Neill went close on 2 or 3 occasions
shooting just wide. Nathan Morrisroe sealed the win to make it 5-3 and
complete a great come back. But Town didn’t have it all their own way
with man of the match Keeper Luke Day pulling off 3 or 4 outstanding
saves in the 2nd half that had everyone applauding.
