Summer Match Results and Stats

Sat 17th     Snaith Juniors     Away    Won   3-0

Town just managed to get a team together this week with holidays and a few off with illness and had Conor Hutchinson pull out with a leg injury just before the kick off. Good wishes to them all and a speedy recovery.
Town were under pressure early on and Luke Day had to be alert in goals with a back 4 of Man of the match Joe Sayer who was outstanding at right back, with Joel Hobson and Thomas Whitton keeping it tight at Centre half and new player Ellis Brightmore impressing on his debut for the team at left back. In midfield it was Nathan Morrisroe on the right and Michael Crossley on the left with James Cheung and Reuben Kirsch in the middle. A front 2 of Connor Hughes and Louis Watton.
After 10 minutes Town came to life and Connor Hughes broke through the midfield and finished well to make it 3 goals in 2 games.
Louis Watton had a great run on the left taking the ball past 3 then crossing but the danger was cleared.
In the 2nd half Town pushed on and Nathan Morrisroe used his pace well on the right and he was a threat for most of the game.
Cheung and Kirsch linked up well in the middle of the park playing some nice football. At the back Whitton and Hobson looked very confident and starting to look better each week backing each other up and clearing the ball on several occasions to stop Snaith from trying to attack. Up front Watton and Hughes were connecting well and looking like scoring more this summer.
It was from a corner that Town struck again Hughes played it in and it was right across goal and Hobson was on hand to tuck it away.
Snaith had a couple of chances to get back into the game but Day kept them out and kept a clean sheet.
Then Town got another corner which Watton whipped in with his left boot and Whitton was on hand to slot it home to make it 3-0 at the final whistle.
