13th September
Castleford Town 4 - 2 South Milford

Castleford Town started the new
season at home to South Milford.
Town got off to a flier with some swift passing which ended with Declan
Walker having a shot which struck the crossbar. Another move which was
cleared to Reece Carr who shot just wide. South Milford put Town under
pressure with Captain Joel Hobson and Conor Hutchinson standing strong
in the middle at the back. Full backs Reece Carr and Joe Sayer were
solid. Luke Day saved well when left 1 on 1.
Town took a deserved lead when Joe Sayer held the ball on the left well
and fed Declan Walker who moved the ball well before shooting into the
corner of the net to make it 1-0. South Milford pulled 1 back to level
it after some sloppy defence. James Cheung had a shot which was saved
well. Nathan Morrisroe had a few great runs on the right. Ross Williams
and Louis Watton played some nice stuff up front.
But it was Hayden O’Neill on the left who passed 2 defenders to get to
the by-line only to be brought down for a penalty. Declan took it and
the keeper saved well but Declan Walker followed up to slot the rebound
home to make it 2-1 at half time.
In the 2nd half it was end to end stuff and it saw South Milford
equalize again at 2-2. But it wasn’t long before Town were back in front
again nice passing from Ross Williams to Nathan Morrisroe who found man
of the match Declan Walker on the edge of the box who got is well
deserved hat-trick with a sweet shot. Connor Hughes came on for Ross
Williams up front. Louis Watton had a shot which was saved well. Hayden
O’Neill and Connor Hughes passed well before Connor Hughes got in a
shot. Luke Day saved well diving to his right to keep the lead. James
Carolan came on for Joe Sayer. It was nail biting stuff and both sides
going close. Then Town got a corner which Connor Hughes took on the left
and Joel Hobson who’d pushed forward got on the end of it to head home
to make it 4-2. Louis Watton put Hayden O’Neill in on the left who ran
through on goal who shot just wide. Declan Walker broke on the left cut
in and shot just over the bar. Joel Hobson at the back headed a shot
onto the bar to keep Towns lead until the final whistle. Michael
Crossley came on late to replace Reece Carr.

27th Sept Castleford Town
6 - 2 Wheldrake

Town were at home this week
against Wheldrake.
It was a fast and furious start with Town looking good going forward and
Declan Walker had a shot just over early on. Then it was Wheldrake’s
turn to put Town’s defence under pressure. Reece Carr at right back
centre halves of Joel Hobson and Thomas Whitton with Joe Sayer at left
back working well together to keep Wheldrake out. Luke Day in goals was
impressive when called upon to calm things down by collecting the ball
well. Then Town took the lead Declan passed to Nathan Morrisroe who fed
Connor Hughes who finished well.
I midfield James Cheung and Walker were
excellent with Wingers Morrisroe and Hayden O’Neill running tirelessly.
Louis Watten was a great strike partner for Hughes. Both Hayden and
Morrisroe had shots. Towns 2nd goal was from a Louis Watton’s corner
that he miss hit and from the rebound he whipped in a great cross that
was headed back across goal by Walker and Hughes finished well to bag
his 2nd. It was all Town and they were unlucky not to score more. Then
Town let Wheldrake back into the game with 2 quick goals being conceded
after some sloppy defence leaving Day with no chance on either goal. 2-2
was the half time score.
In the 2nd half Town were back in front after 2 quick goals by Walker
both taken well running in on goal the 2nd being a great chip. Town
dominated the early stages of the half and Wheldrake’s keeper was on
form denying Town more goals. Then the ball broke out of the area for
Hobson who struck the ball well and it
was deflected in off a defender but Hobson
claimed the goal his 2nd of the season. Whitton did well at the back
clearing the ball. Day made a fantastic save when diving full stretch
and holding the ball to deny Wheldrake any chance of coming back. Hayden
O’Neill and Man of the match Nathan Morrisroe worked so hard. Walker got
his 2nd hat-trick of the season with a sweetly taken goal after some
nice footwork to pass defender after defender before shooting well.
Subs: Michael Crossley for Joe Sayer, James Carolan for Hayden O’Neill
and Ben Humes for Louis Watton all did
well after coming on.

04th Oct Barlby Raiders
0 - 2
Castleford Town
Today we were away at a wind
swept Barlby.
In our first away game of the season Town wanted to keep up an unbeaten
start.
Town with the wind started well with a front 2 of Louis Watton and
Connor Hughes. Hayden O’Neill and Nathan Morrisroe swapped wings for
today’s game and it proved to be a good move with both looking
impressive. In the middle it was Declan Walker and James Cheung who both
worked tirelessly. Walker was unlucky with an early shot going just over
the bar. Then after some great build up play by Hayden who passed to
Watton who found Hughes who finished well. Town dominated most of the
1st half but Luke Day saved twice pushing a shot onto the bar and then
saving from close range from the rebound. Morrisroe passed to Walker who
shot just wide. Both Hughes and Watton put in some fantastic corners.
Morrisroe had a shot just wide. Watton also was just off target after
build up play from Walker and Morrisroe. Town got a corner just before
the break which Watton whipped in which was cleared back to him and he
calmly shot back and the ball flew into the far top corner for his first
goal of the season.
In the 2nd half Town had to contend with the wind and it was swirling
more and made it difficult at times.
The back 4 of Reece Carr, Joel Hobson (cpt), Thomas Whitton and Joe
Sayer all impressed and were solid.
Hughes had several chances running through on goal only for the keeper
twice the crossbar and a shot just wide. Conor Hutchinson came on for
Sayer on the left and did very well. Ross Williams came on for Watton
who had a few chances and made several great runs. Ellis Brightmore
pulled a muscle warming up and didn’t play. Watton came back on for
Hughes. Morrisroe was unlucky when his shot came back off the bar. It
was strong defending for the last 5 minutes that kept a clean sheet.
Reece Carr got a deserved Man of the Match.

11th Oct
Castleford Town
2 - 2
Brayton
Town were at home to Brayton
this week, both teams unbeaten so far.
Cas started strongly and had lots of possession early on. Then it was
Brayton who pushed forward and Luke Day in goals saved well twice. It
was Brayton who took the lead after some sloppy play at the back. Louis
Watton teamed up front with Hughes well. It was end to end football and
after some great build up play from Man of the match Hayden O’Neill who
fed Connor Hughes who found Nathan Morrisroe who shot into the top
corner. A centre midfield of Conor Hutchinson and James Cheung kept
things tight. A back 4 of Reece Carr, Thomas Whitton, (Captain) Joel
Hobson and Ellis Brightmore worked very well at times. Town upped the
pressure and were unlucky not to score again when Morrisroe hit the
post.
In the 2nd half Brayton came out fast and pushed Town back. Then after
some nice play from Substitute Joe Sayer who passed to O’Neill who run
down the line and crossed to Hughes whose touch let him down. Then Day
in goals took his eye of the ball and miss handled a catch to let a
Brayton striker fire home from a tight angle. Ross Williams came on for
Cheung and had a great shot which he caught so sweetly but the keeper
saved well. James Carolan came on for Carr at right back and after an
early mistake played some really nice football.
Joel Hobson was strong at the back clearing the ball well and putting
Town back on the front foot. Hughes dropped into midfield and did very
well. It was from a Hughes corner that Town equalised it was whipped in
to Watton whose shot deflected off a defender then deflected off Joel
Hobson and into the net. It was well deserved equaliser and it was Town
who finished the stronger and nearly snatched all 3 points. This result
should take Town to the top of the table and still undefeated from 4
games. Next week it’s the cup with Selby Town top from the Red league
and Cas Town top from the blue league meeting in the 2nd round after
both teams getting byes in the 1st round.

15th Nov
Castleford Town
2 - 3
Elvington

Town started a
sluggish and Elvington pushed forward, but the back 4 of Captain Joel
Hobson, Thomas Whitton, Reece Carr and Brandan Hopper kept it tight.
Luke Day made several saves to keep the scores level but was unlucky
with Elvington’s opener. Then it was Town who pushed it forward with
James
Cheung and Conor Hutchinson in the
midfield working tirelessly. Hayden O’Neill and Nathan Morrisroe out on
the wings went past Elvington defenders time after time. The front 2 of
Ross Williams and Louis Watton were outstanding. It was Morrisroe who
struck for Towns equaliser and it was somehow 1-1 at half time even
though Town had all the possession and were so unlucky not to lead at
the break.
In the 2nd half Town pushed forward like in the 1st and Louis Watton
struck to give them the lead they deserved.
Town struggled to cope with a muddy area and conceded 2 2nd half goals
to end up losing a game that they dominated at times.
Connor Hughes and Luke Higgs came off the bench and did well. Man of the
match was Brandan Hopper making his home debut at left back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22nd Nov Monk Fryston
1 - 2
Castleford Town
Town were away at a very windy Monk
Fryston on Saturday.
Town kept up their good form from last week and had all the play in the
Monk Frystons half. Louis Watton and Ross Williams are performing very
well together in attack. Debutant Luke Higgs was on the right wing in
place of the injured Hayden O’Neill and he impressed. James Cheung and
Man of the Match Connor Hutchinson were outstanding in the centre of
midfield. Nathan Morrisroe was on his unfavoured side the left of
midfield but was excellent and on another day could have scored several
goals. Joe Sayer playing at right back shone and impressed. Brandan
Hopper had another great game at left back with Captain Joel Hobson and
Thomas Whitton were solid at the heart of the defence. Luke Day was not
called upon much today but pulled off a great save when called upon to
do so. The first half ended 0-0.
In the 2nd half Town continued to press forward but it was Monk Fryston
who took the lead from a corner. Town pressed on and James Cheung struck
to level it with a well taken shot. The Monk Fryston keeper made several
great saves to deny Town a winner. Connor Hughes came on for Luke Higgs
but got hit full in the face and had to be taken off after 5minutes.
Luke Day made a great save to keep Town in the game after a break away.
Then Town were pressing and the ball broke to Ross Williams who placed
his shot past the keeper and into the far corner for Town to snatch a
deserved winner.

29th Nov
Castleford Town
7 - 3
Selby Olympia
Town were straight
onto the attack and dominated the game for large periods. Town pressed
forward and some great play from James Cheung who found Nathan Morrisroe
who finished well. It was then left back Brandan Hopper who broke
forward and found Morrisroe with a nice ball who again finished with a
nice shot. It was then Morrisroe who turned provider to find Connor
Hughes who replaced Luke Higgs after 3 minutes to score Towns 3rd. It
was Hughes who made it 4 – 0 after a cleared corner came back out to him
and he
placed his shot with great accuracy.
Towns back 4 were on top form again with Joe Sayer on the right Cpt Joel
Hobson and Thomas Whitton in centre and Hopper on the left. Luke Day was
rarely tested in the first half but handled everything he had to well.
At times Town passed the ball so well it was hard for Olympia to get the
ball and were opened up on several occasions.
In the 2nd half Town were caught cold and 2 slip ups helped Olympia back
into the game at 4-2. Ross Williams and Louis Watton played some great
stuff up front again and it was Watton who fed the ball to Morrisroe for
him to bag his Hat-trick. Town conceded again to make it 5-3. James
Cheung and Conor Hutchinson were again outstanding in the midfield. Town
then put the game to bed with Man of the Match Morrisroe scoring his
fourth. James Carolan came on for Watton and impressed. Hughes rounded
off a great game with Towns 7th and his Hat-trick with a sweet shot.

17th Jan South Milford
VS
Castleford Town
Town were back in
action after 7 weeks without a game because of Christmas and the
weather.
Town started very brightly playing against the wind and for 10 minutes
dominated the game but couldn’t finish their chances with both Connor
Hughes and Louis Watton linking up well. Man of the James Cheung was
outstanding in the middle of the park alongside Conor Hutchinson who was
solid as usual. Nathan Morrisroe and Hayden O’Neill found it difficult
on a very narrow pitch but both stuck at it in a very tight midfield.
Joel Hobson was solid alongside Thomas Whitton who could’ve scored a
hat-trick today with better finishing. Joe Sayer and Brandan Hopper ran
tirelessly at full back. Luke Day was back in form today and saved well
on several occasions and was close to the star player today.
It was South Milford who took the lead against the run of play and then
doubled it soon after but Town heads didn’t drop and James Cheung pulled
Town back into the game with a sweetly taken shot. Town were pegged back
in their own half for long spells and conceded 3 goals after mix ups at
the back. Ross Williams came on for Watton up front and scored within
minutes by calmly slotting the ball past the keeper.
In the second half Town were stung in the first minute and conceded a
killer goal. From then on Town took control again and missed several
chances. Then James Cheung got his 2nd with another sweet finish. Luke
Higgs came on for Hutchinson in the middle. Watton came back on for
Morrisroe and new player Jonny Haines made his Town debut replacing
Sayer as they pushed more players forward. Town were unfortunate to lose
but suffered because of not taking their chances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10th Jan Ulleskelf
VS
Castleford Town
Town were away to Ulleskelf on a cold
frosty morning.
It was Town who pressed from the off today, and after a few shots it was
striker Louis Watton who got town off to a flier with a sweet shot.
Minutes later he had to be replaced after taking a knock to his foot.
Connor Hughes replaced him and lined up alongside Ross Williams up
front. It was Hughes who got the 2nd and Williams who slotted home the
3rd. Man of the match Luke Higgs was outstanding on the right wing with
Nathan Morrisroe on the left wing with Hayden O’Neill alongside James
Cheung who scored Towns 4th. Luke Day was rarely tested. Brandan Hopper
at left back Joe Sayer showed some class at right back with Thomas
Whitton and Joel Hobson solid at the back.
In the 2nd half Ulleskelf came out and attacked Town and Day was called
upon to save early on. But it was Town who increased their lead from an
home goal. Then Ulleskelf pulled 1 back after Hobson failed to clear.
Conor Hutchinson came on for Hopper who had a muscle strain. Then
another home goal has a defender cleared under pressure and hit his own
keeper and the ball bounced over the line. Whitton failed to
clear and lost out letting
Ulleskelf score again. Jonny Haines came on for the injured Morrisroe
and showed some nice touches. It was Hughes who got his 2nd and Town’s
7th to make it a comfortable win.
